He was the final writer of TOTAL RECALL (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, directed by Paul Verhoeven) and Verhoeven's script doctor on BASIC INSTINCT (starring Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone), which was the highest grossing film worldwide in the year of its release.
